There are many agencies that are available to assist caregivers for elderly parents. Although there may be waiting lists and medical forms for the primary physician to complete, the services provided are beneficial.

My parents have worked very hard and are using their life-savings to enjoy the “fruits of their labor,” regardless of the responsibilities living at home requires in comparison to an assisted living facility. They have expressed on several occasions how living together in their home enriches their lives. The memories are precious for them and me, the caregiver. The following agencies have provided excellent services to enhance my parents quality of life and allow them to remain in the comfort of their home.

Although there are waiting lists for these various agencies, it is worthwhile to make contact. They will listen empathetically and guide you with whatever areas of concerns you may have to assist you with being an effective caregiver.

* Please note that I live in Miami Gardens, Florida and that is why many of the agencies listed are located in Miami-Dade County, Florida.
